Ariadne is a daughter of King Minos and Pasiphaë. She aided Theseus in overcoming the Minotaur by giving him a ball of red fleece thread that she was spinning, so that he could find his way out of the Labyrinth. Later, Theseus abandoned Ariadne sleeping on Naxos.
Ariane est une fille du roi Minos et de Pasiphaé. Elle aida Thésée à vaincre le Minotaure en lui donnant une balle de fil rouge d’une laine qu’elle tissait, afin qu’il puisse retrouver son chemin hors du Labyrinthe. Puis, profitant de son sommeil, Thésée abandonna Ariane sur l’île de Naxos.
